Andrew Bradshaw whilst at GL Hearn was appointed by the Torus Group to prepare a housing investment strategy for the North West region to support the group’s delivery of 5,300 new homes by 2024.
The work was undertaken in two stages with the first stage undertaking a robust assessment of the local policy, socio-economic and property market context of the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Knowsley, Halton, Sefton, St. Helens and Wirral), alongside the additional local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Wigan and West Lancashire on behalf of the Torus Group to establish the evidence base and baseline for the identification of priority areas for investment and development.
The second stage builds on the findings of the stage 1 work to identify the key priority residential development and investment areas for each of the 11 target local authority areas based on the key socio economic and market trends that influence housing demand across a range of different market segments.
This in turn informed a focused desktop site search exercise of each respective local authority areas based on a number of key site search criteria leading to a short list of recommended sites to be investigated further as part of a sites acquisition strategy.
